Please complete the following steps to register for the program:

  1. Select the options below if you need to add a lift ticket and/or rent gear from Sugarbush for each session. If your child has a season pass and is not renting equipment through Sugarbush, please proceed to Step 2.
  2. Select either 'Ski' or 'Snowboard' based on the discipline your child will be participating in.
  3. Read the Ski & Snowboard Level Guide listed below and select the appropriate level.

Children’s Ski & Snowboard Levels

New Red:

  • Skiing: This is my first time on skis.
  • Snowboarding: This is my first time snowboarding.

Red:

  • Skiing: I have been on skis before. I am still working on turning, stopping, and skiing independently. I still need help side stepping and duck walking. I will only be riding the Sunkid lift in the children’s learning area.
  • Snowboarding: I have been snowboarding before. I am working on skating, stopping, and strapping in by myself. I can glide and have worked on doing J-turns.

Yellow:

  • Skiing: I can do basic turns to the left and right. I can stop consistently and get up by myself when I fall. I am still working on controlling my speed. I can ski independently, and I am comfortable on the SunKid Lift. I am not ready to ride the chair lift yet.
  • Snowboarding: I can do toe and heel side J-turns. I can slow down, heel and/or toe skid, and stop most of the time. I am working on traversing, Garlands, and C-turns. I am working on getting up by myself. I am ready for the Welcome Mat.

Green:

  • Skiing: I can link my turns. I am still learning how to hockey stop. I can use my edges to keep from slipping. I go back and forth from a wedge to parallel depending on terrain. I can ski on the Welcome Mat, and I am ready to ride the chair lift and ski green trails.
  • Snowboarding: I am working on controlling my speed, linking my turns, and making turns of different shapes and sizes. I am comfortable with the Welcome Mat and ready for the chair lift and green trails.

Blue:

  • Skiing: I can hockey stop consistently. I am comfortable on green and blue terrain in most conditions. I can ski parallel, and I am still learning the proper use of poles. I am looking to improve my speed control and comfort on more challenging terrain.
  • Snowboarding: I am working on making different turn shapes on command and switch turns. I am comfortable on green and blue terrain and in most conditions. I have started carving and learning beginner freestyle, Smart Style, and park etiquette.

Purple/Black:

  • Skiing: I can parallel ski comfortably on high blue and black diamond trails. I can ski challenging terrain including steeps, bumps, and woods. I can use my poles effectively. I can ski comfortably in all conditions.
  • Snowboarding: I can carve my turns and ride switch. I enjoy riding blue and black terrain, including the park. I know and use Smart Style and follow park etiquette, and I am increasing my skill level in the park. I am working on my short and long radius dynamic turns on advanced trails.
